The outcomes of the project From 2008 to 2010 the project has worked on developing, trial-running, implementing and disseminating results, which you find described here.
  1. Technique: 'Reflection tool' and recommendations
    An online tool for mobile phones, connecting student, trainer and teacher. Allows the exchange of information on the progress in the student's education.
  2. Train-the-trainer module
    When training the adaptation of mobile learning devices in vocational educations, teachers and trainers need a pedagogical concept and technical advice.
  3. 'Do's and Don'ts'
    A catalogue with recommendations on distance learning and training of apprentices, when using mobile phones.

1) Technique Here you find both perspectives on relevant technical considerations and recommendations for integrating the new mobile devices into teaching and learning processes:
  1. How to decide for a mobile device?
  2. Always online with mobile broadband?
  3. Enter education-relevant sites with the mobile education portal EnterEdu
  4. Support of apprentices with a 'reflection tool'
  5. How to produce teaching and training materials for mobile platforms?

The project's 'reflection tool' is freely available, to be used as a linking platform between teacher, student and trainer. Sign up for receiving an individual log-on.
 

2) Training As a VET teacher and trainer, you will a pedagogical concept for the adaptation of mobile learning devices, when training apprentices at a distance. These are issues such as how to handle:
  • Personal interaction: Communication and relationships
  • Support of the apprentices' learning processes
  • Teachers' and trainers' assessments and training materials
  • Correlation of the new methods with the technical and pedagogical daily conditions for VET schools and training companies
  • How to include the apprentices' non-formal and informal compentencies
3) Do's and Don'ts The project partners collect their observations and experiences throughout the project.

Trials runs will lead to conclusions on 'best practise' and 'worst practise', as well as how to integrate the new methods into the VET education systems and mainstrem teaching.
